Kinderhaus offers an 11 months German Immersion program that runs from the middle of August to through the middle of July, with 4 weeks summer break.

Application process

There are a few important steps that we ask all families to go through if they are interested in enrolling a child at Kinderhaus:

  1. Submit a pre-admission questionnaire
  2. Pay the application fee of $55
  3. We will review your application. Typically, we will get in touch with you within a few days, but please understand that it might sometimes take us 1-2 weeks to get back to you.
  4. The next step is usually for you and your child to visit Kinderhaus. We will reach out to you to arrange that visit.
  5. You will receive enrollment paperwork that we will ask you to complete and to return to us.
  6. Pay a deposit (one month tuition) and first month tuition to secure placement in our program

Important dates

Kinderhaus accepts applications throughout the year.  Completed applications submitted by March 14, 2022 will be considered for admission for fall 2022.  Applications submitted thereafter, or students who are not initially accepted into the program, can be placed on a waiting list for openings that may occur throughout the school year, or for admission during the following school year. To the extent that there are openings during the current school year, Kinderhaus will review the current wait list of eligible students to fill the space.

Children must be at least 2 years 9 months old to be eligible for enrollment. If you are interested in joining Kinderhaus now, fill out an application below.

  • Application forms for new and returning families are due March 14, 2022 to be considered for admission for fall 2022.
  • Contracts for siblings, returning students and/or children of alumni are sent out in March.
  • Contracts for new families are sent out in March and April.
  • Deadlines for returning a signed contract and deposit are two weeks from the date the contract is sent.

Admissions criteria

Kinderhaus admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, fee and parent participation programs.

Please be aware that due to our small program, we have very limited spaces available each year. The selection of new students is at the school’s discretion. Preference is given to returning families and alumni. Students must be at least 2 years 9 months (2.9 years old) to be enrolled in the program.   In order to sustain our German language immersion program, Kinderhaus makes every effort to provide a balanced classroom based on gender, age, familiarity with the German language, general fit and desired schedule.  Position on the wait list is considered, but does not guarantee a space.

We require all children to comply with the California immunization requirements.
